The seeds for the Victoria Street Alive! project were sown in August/September 2018.

A group of residents developed a project to renew our local shopping and restaurant precinct in Victoria Street, Abbotsford & Richmond.
Victoria Street Alive! was born.
​
A subsequent grant application to the state government to fund our renewal activities was unsuccessful.
Undeterred, residents continued to develop the Victoria Street Alive! concept.
​
In April 2021, Victoria Street Alive! was one of twelve projects that was successful in receiving a state government grant as part of the North Richmond Precinct Project renewal scheme.
​
By 30 June 2022, Victoria Street Alive! had staged four major public events in spite of major disruptions caused by COVID-19.
​
The community response to these events was beyond our wildest expectations: healthy attendances and enthusiastic interest from key local businesses, organisations, and other stakeholders.
​
In response to popular demand forr markets, exhibitions and street poster installations, Victoria Street Alive! continues to work with local organisations to provide events that stimulate and renew our vibrant inner-city neighbourhoods of Abbotsford & Richmond.
Victoria Street Alive!
- activates community led, inclusive events and activities that revitalise the Victoria Street precinct

- creates events, activities and spaces where people engage, meet and learn, where ideas take shape, collaborations are ignited and inclusive partnerships are developed
- celebrates the cultural and artistic richness that defines this community
​
- collaborates with key stakeholders including businesses, not-for-profit organisations, schools and health centres
​
- welcomes contributions from anyone with similar values-based objectives
